James coaching a golfer at the range
Winter 2026 · Limited coaching places

Six months of personal coaching at Calderfields Golf Range, Aldridge — with support between lessons.

Stop guessing what to practise. Start building a game you can trust.

Had a great lesson, hit the ball better for a few sessions, then watched the same miss return on the course? Tried another drill and wondered whether to stick with it or start again? You don't need more random fixes. You need a coach who understands your game and helps you put the work in the right places.

Over six months, we'll identify the problems costing you shots, build the skills to address them and practise using those changes where it matters — on the course. With private coaching at Calderfields and personal video reviews between lessons, you'll know what to work on, how to judge progress and when to adjust.

Enrolment closes 30 November 2026. Your six months begin when you join.

I've been there

More swing tips aren't always the answer. I learned that the hard way.

At one point I was hitting as many as 600 balls a day, getting more confused instead of better, and came close to quitting. I know what it feels like to work hard at golf without knowing whether you're working on the right things.

That's why this isn't a series of lessons where you're left to figure everything out afterwards. We'll agree one or two priorities in person, give your practice a clear direction and use feedback between sessions to keep the work moving forward.

Jack’s season · In-person coaching

What happens when hard work has a clear direction.

12 → 4

An eight-shot handicap reduction in one season.

  • Won the junior club championship
  • Started playing for the county team
  • Won his men’s club foursomes

Lessons every two weeks. Purposeful practice between them.

Jack played and practised consistently, followed his plan and reviewed his progress with me every two weeks. When something slipped, we could check it and decide what he needed to work on next.

He went from a 12 handicap to a 4 in one season, won the junior club championship and men's club foursomes, and started playing for the county team. He's now working towards scratch.

The hard work was Jack's. A clear plan and regular feedback helped give that effort direction — and the results showed up on the course.

Different golfers. Different goals. A clearer way forward.

16 → Single Figures

“James got me to single figures from a 16 handicap. In only 6 lessons my handicap dropped and I achieved my lifelong goal of single figures. Next stop scratch!”

David Harris

Complete Transformation

“James transformed my game. I spent months trying to learn through YouTube and friends and lacked the confidence to play a full round. James has completely transformed my game and my friends say I look like a real golfer now.”

Saif Shah

−6 Handicap in 4 Months

“My handicap dropped 6 shots in 4 months. James has completely transformed all aspects of my game. I now feel confident in my setup and ball striking. His style of coaching is very easy to understand and he maintains a genuine interest in my progress.”

Is this right for you?

For golfers who care about improving — but are tired of starting again.

Maybe you've had a lesson where something clicked, only to find the same bad shot waiting for you a week later. You might be trying to reach single figures, regain confidence with a club or simply stop wasting practice time. If you want regular face-to-face coaching and a clear plan between sessions, this is built for you.

  • You can make time for regular, focused practice between lessons.
  • You want to understand why a change matters, not just copy another drill.
  • You are happy to share feedback and follow a plan over six months.

If you're only looking for a quick tip before your next round, a one-off lesson may suit you better. This programme is for building lasting skills through coaching, practice and feedback.

Personal coaching, with support between lessons

When your game changes, your plan changes with it.

We'll start by understanding your game and agreeing one or two priorities. Each private lesson gives you something useful to work on; your practice plan, included video reviews and messaging help you keep moving between visits. If the old problem returns, we can check what's happening rather than starting again with another tip.

When practice doesn't go to plan

The old miss comes back. What now?

Imagine your iron contact improves after a lesson, then you start thinning shots again the next week. Do you keep repeating the drill, change something or wait until your next appointment?

Use one of your included monthly online reviews to send me a new video and explain what you're seeing. I'll respond within 72 hours with personal feedback, so you know whether to keep working on the same task, adapt it or move forward.

Open Performance Hub. Know what to work on.

Before your next practice session, you can open your plan and get straight to purposeful work.

  • Your next priority

See the task we agreed and how to practise it.

  • Your previous feedback

Revisit your coaching priorities and online reviews instead of relying on memory.

  • Questions between reviews

Message me to clarify feedback or your current practice plan.

For a fresh swing assessment between lessons, use one of your included online reviews. Round tracking, learning resources and training games are also included when they're useful to your plan.

Your coaching process

A clear process, built around your game.

Better golf doesn't happen in a straight line. We'll use these five steps throughout your private coaching and between-lesson practice to find what matters, build the right skills and see what holds up when you play.

  1. Assess

Tell me which shots are costing you, what your rounds look like and what you'd most like to improve.

  2. Diagnose

Watch your shots and ball flight together, using video where helpful, to work out what's driving the miss.

  3. Adjust

Choose one or two useful changes and know what to look for when you practise them.

  4. Train

Build the skill with focused tasks, games and challenges, checking what is and isn't sticking.

  5. Perform

Take it to different shots, lies and pressure situations, then see how it holds up on the course.

What you can expect from me

I can't promise a particular handicap reduction. What I can commit to is a plan built around your game, the private coaching and online reviews included in your chosen programme, personal video feedback within 72 hours and guidance when a practice task needs adjusting. Your practice — and what you tell me about the shots you're hitting — helps us work out what to do next.

Six months from purchase. Instalments are a fixed commitment of six monthly payments. No automatic renewal.

Online swing reviews returned within 72 hours. Unused reviews expire at the end of each programme month and do not roll over.

Give at least 24 hours' notice to rearrange private lessons. Unused private coaching can roll forward by one month; late cancellations may count as used.

After purchase, sign in or create your Performance Hub account and complete your self-assessment quiz. Then book your initial coaching session.

Questions

Before you decide.

Your next practice session could have a clear purpose.

If you're ready to stop piecing together advice and start following a plan built around your game, I'd love to coach you at Calderfields.

Choose your level of support and join me for six months of private coaching. You'll then access Performance Hub, complete your self-assessment and book your first session at Calderfields so we can identify where to start.

Enrolment closes 30 November 2026, or earlier if in-person coaching capacity is filled. Places are limited by the personal coaching time each golfer receives.

P.S. Start with the shot that's been driving you mad. Tell me what you've already tried in your self-assessment, then bring that problem to our first lesson. Imagine leaving the range knowing what you're working on, rather than hoping another tip might stick.
